  The Hurricane and the Lawnmower
Religion & Philosophyleviuqse writes "I now have a different way of looking at the world after an event of a few weeks ago. It happened, simply enough, while I was mowing the lawn. I passed over a large ant hill and completely destroyed it. It wasn't a big deal at first, but later I started to wonder what those ants think when something like that happens."

  Not Quite As Advertised
Religion & Philosophyleviuqse writes "Last week, I bought a pen. The pen costs one Jolly Hotdog Meal, yeah I know it’s kinda hefty, but I’m after what its ad says, that it’ll look good in any kind of paper (I mean the writing). Then I thought hmmm, a nice pen will be a hit if I’ll also buy an “OA” priced notebook. So I also bought a notebook that promises a lot in its poster."

Bout God's Will and Our Dreams
Religion & Philosophyleviuqse writes "I was dining with a friend, who was ranting. Ranting, simply because he was itching to get out of his job. He wants to resign for the reason that his job is not him. Yeah, he may be getting a nice salary but with the prices sky-rocketing to the heavens, his value is only good for fare budget for the next pay day.

  A woman’s voice vs. "Papa Ratzi’s"
Religion & Philosophyby Krip Yuson

Someone in a Fil-Am e-group seemed to have gotten rather irate over a column I wrote for this magazine a month ago, where I lauded the Pinoy Divorce bill submitted in Congress by Rep. Liza Maza.

Pope's spiritual legacy and love for the poor lives on
Religion & Philosophyby: Fr. Shay Cullen

The Pope is dead. For 26 long years this extraordinary man has guided the church with compassion and discipline, everywhere world leaders acknowledged his outstanding contribution to the advancement of justice and peace, racial harmony and unprecedented international reconciliation with the Jewish community.

  PerryScope: Habemus Papam Filipini
Religion & PhilosophyBy Perry Diaz

After 92 days in conclave, the cardinals were almost certain that the next round of voting would produce a pope. After all, Cardinal Giovanni Antonini, the leading papal candidate was just three votes short of the two-third majority requirement (one of the last Pope's legacy was to restore the 2/3 requirement to elect a pope). The cardinals retired early that day to give everybody a chance to sleep over their choice for the following day's crucial vote.

Telltale Signs: A Pope for the Ages: Hardly a Conservative Icon
Religion & PhilosophyRodel Rodis

President George W. Bush has embraced Pope John Paul II as a fellow conservative citing their common opposition to gay marriage and to abortion. But he is conspicuously silent on the Pope's opposition to capital punishment and to the war in Iraq.

When Bush was governor of Texas, he oversaw the execution of 150 death row inmates. On each occasion, the Vatican pleaded with him to commute their sentences to life imprisonment. Each and every Vatican request was denied.
