Environment, Community and SocietyJJ writes "Never has it been mans interest to prohibit or restrict any type of expression - as they say to anyone. And yet in the world we live in, any institution or organization believing that they are being threaten or potential threat on political, social or moral order are applying preventive censorship on those who express strong disapproval or criticism.   Child pornography deadly cause of child abuse
Environment, Community and SocietyFr. Shay Cullen

In most countries there is another damaging impact of the computer revolution- the cyber sex over the Internet. Today young people can connect to the internet in a cyber cafe for a few pesos and with a simple click of a button, they can connect to web sites that show the most perverse images of child sexual abuse. This has a powerful impact on the mind of a young boy. The influence can fill his feelings with sexual arousal intense curiosity and temptation to make sexual experimentation with children younger than him.

Mobilizing Overseas Filipino Resources for the Development of Communities of San Pablo City

Background Information:

An Asian Development Bank study in 2004 stated in its findings what has been obvious to most of us in the field of migration and development---that overseas migration of Filipinos has not substantially contributed to the country's economic development. In the book, Coming Home: Women, Migration and Reintegration that was published in 2002, Atikha has already stated that "although work overseas has raised the standard of living of families, it has not contributed substantially to the economic development…"

As I write this at the Preda Centre I can look out the window and see across Subic Bay to the mountains and the glowing red orb of the setting sun. It is beautiful here on the mountainside overlooking the sea, a fitting place for the recovery of children who have known nothing but squalor and abuse, misery and menace. Another day has passed.

Almost a year later she was transferred to the Sisters Hospice in Olongapo City where the Preda staff and children visited her every week.
