 JJ writes "We all, not only filipinos, tend to forget a crucial element for solving a problem; The question why. From corruption to egoism the cause of "crap mentality" must be known. Too many people tend to believe that force, strength and money is the power to improve. Which alot of filipinos knows that it is the wrong way of thinking and therefore named it so. But even those people could not see any cause or any solution to this so-called crap mentality except to let the people have a stronger discipline.
The truth is all of the means filipinos have used to achieve improvements are worth nothing without knowledge. Not many people realize that only knowledge is power. The fact is: knowledge is what makes the world go round, it is what makes any society stay alive.
Indeed the phrase: "Knowledge is power" is true in all aspects.
With my first hand experience in the philippine education I know that from the tools bad condition to the much too high tuition the country is not giving its people their full potential. And knowing the history of the philippine education I conclude that filipino political leaders from the presidency to mayoralties have neglected this far too long. They have always put education in second line when figuring out the budget and projects.
I truly believe we can improve our country by achieving the power of knowledge. Improving the education will cause the access to information to surely improve. It will just then be a matter of time, before opportunities for our country to become the greatest to be within reach.
To emphasize it: The root of our national problem is the out-dated educational system and the quality of education itself. Politicians must make it better. It is crucial.
Knowledge is power.
